In the heart of London's East end you'll find Number Six, a premium menswear store that celebrates casual culture and the menswear that sits at the heart of it. Opened in 2009 and located in the Old Truman Brewery on Dray Walk, Number Six was founded by Mark Bapista and Chris Dacey as an expansion of their original web store ‘When we were casuals’.

The store's location just off vibrant Brick Lane provides the ideal setting for their selection of casual classics including brands such as Adidas, Barbour, Baracuta and Clarks Originals. As time went by the casual aesthetic of Number Six evolved and tailoring from Oliver Spencer, Our Legacy and Hartford was introduced in store alongside technical specialist brands MA.STRUM and Patagonia.

Inside, the space is vast and separated over floors. The ground floor showcases seasonal collections displayed on two rails that run either side of a glass cabinet centrepiece filled with a wide range of accessories and on our visit we spotted belts, socks, wallets and eyewear from the likes of Anderson, Happy Socks and Gareth Leight. Upstairs you’ll find a wealth of apparel, footwear and luggage separated by a wooden tabletop featuring suggested outfits, footwear and publications from the creative team at Number Six.

The brand changed hands in October 2013 and is now owned by Jake Hardy, previous Number Six store manager and digital media and e-commerce specialist; his company, Thames Collective built the Number Six website.

A menswear must, notable neighbours include Folk Clothing, Son of a Stag, You Must Create (YMC) and London Undercover.
